THE WHITECHAPEL RINGERS

The group was started in 1977 as an offshoot of the newly formed Transvaal Society of Church Bell Ringers, which eventually installed the ring of 8 tower bells in St.George's Church, Parktown, at the end of 1980. We rang for fun and to raise money for the tower bells - ringing in shopping centres during the Christmas season was our main source of funds.

More than 30 years later we are still going strong, although only two of the original members are still part of the band.
